    Running Vs Indoor rowing...

    Running Vs Indoor rowing...

“So you run but have you tried any other cardio? Bike perhaps? Spinning classes? Ah, have you ever tried indoor rowing? Not on the water I mean indoor rowing?” This is how many of my conversations go when I start talking to people about indoor rowing. I actually think someone called it ‘bizarre’ which I found annoying but also bizarre in itself! Whenever anyone wants to start a keep-fit program they mainly turn to running first. Don’t get me wrong, running is a great c

Feeling the 2KM on the erg-before and after with Sarah Gibbs

With her previous article, age group BRIC winner and world record holder Sarah Gibbs took us through the build-up to the 'dreaded' 2k. I really didn’t know much about both but after reading up on them I decided the best route to take woul

I took up lifting weights properly in around 2016, we found a squat rack, weights and an olympic barbell on one of the social media selling sites that was a bargain. My husband went to pick it up whilst I looked after the kids one evening. I was so excited, I’d read heaps of weight-lifting articles and had already chosen a program to follow. So this was the start of my weight lifting adventure! Before that I had dabbled abit with the free weights but deadlifts, back squa

There are no quick fixes to improve fitness!

I was thinking last night about what I was going to blog about this week, and came up with the idea of this blog after finishing my weight session yesterday evening. I got my pull-up bar for my 41st birthday, my lovely husband bought it me as my wish was to be able to perform 10 pull-ups. At that time I was just indoor rowing and doing some bodyweight stuff as I hadn't got into all the weight training I do now in my sessions. Anyhow I was very excited about the prospect of
